This Privacy Policy describes how Zoojly ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and retains personal information when you use our matchmaking service.
This is a matchmaking platform, not therapy or a mental health care service.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information in the following categories:
- Account and profile information: email address, profile details, preferences, and content you choose to provide (including photos and profile descriptions).
- Communications: messages and other information you submit through the service (including support requests).
- Subscription information: subscription status and payment-related identifiers. Payment card details are handled by our payment processors.
- Usage and device information: device/browser data, IP address, and activity data about how you use the service.
- Guardian (wali) contact information: if you choose to use the optional wali notification feature, we collect and store the email address you provide for your guardian. This information is used solely to send introduction notifications on your behalf and is never shared beyond that purpose.
Some information you provide may be considered sensitive depending on your location (for example, information relating to religious beliefs or practices). We use sensitive information only as needed to provide the service, protect users, and comply with law.
3. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- Provide and operate the service, including profile visibility, introductions, and messaging.
- Generate personalized match recommendations using AI-assisted compatibility signals processed within our own app infrastructure.
- Process subscriptions and enforce billing entitlements.
- Maintain safety and integrity, prevent abuse, and enforce our policies.
- Communicate service updates and respond to requests.
- Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.
We do not use third-party LLM tools for matchmaking processing.
4. How We Share Information
We may share personal information in these situations:
- With other users: information you choose to make visible through your profile and service interactions.
- With service providers: providers that help us operate the service (for example, hosting, storage, authentication, security, analytics, communications, and payment processing). Providers are contractually required to protect data and use it only for the services they provide to us.
- At your direction, with a guardian or wali: female members may optionally notify a guardian (wali) about an active introduction. When you use this feature, we transmit basic introduction details — including the other member's display name, general location, approximate age range, and profile photo (if available) — to the email address you designate. This sharing is entirely optional, initiated solely by you, and uses only public profile information the other member has already made visible on the platform.
- For legal and safety reasons: to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, and protect the rights, safety, and integrity of our users and service.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of our business.
We do not sell or rent personal information to third parties.
5. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the service (for example, authentication and security) and to understand and improve performance. You can control some cookie settings through your browser.
Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" feature. We do not respond to Do Not Track signals.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain safety and integrity, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and how it is used.
